[ It didn't sink in that Korra was gone right away. Sometimes she'd go off for runs on Naga that lasted a long time. It was only when they checked her room and found everything gone except for a single photo that it really hit home that they were down an avatar in house 56. Aang took care of the photograph so Bolin took it upon himself to let the village know she was gone. ]

[ Voice ]

Um, it looks like Korra went home again. It's probably alright, she had big stuff to do. Important avatar type stuff like saving the world and punching bad guys. She didn't leave much, but I know she'd miss everyone she became friends with here. And they say friendships can transcend lifetimes with the avatar so maybe it works with other worlds, too?

[ Action ]

[ Bolin is a bit restless and doesn't really want to stay in the house knowing they've lost someone else. So he pulls on a warm coat and heads out to keep himself busy. He spends some time working on bending a ramp for Beat's Skate park. He'll also be stopping in the convenience store to grab a warm drink and a treat for Pabu. Otherwise he'll be around. ]

[Something he's feared. People disappearing who he called friends. It hurts but he can only imagine how much the guy dropping the message is hurting. Now wasn't the time to cry even if he could feel the onset of tears. He'll try and stay even in his voice. Calm and subdued and a small laugh.]

It's just something they say back home. Or something people who know the avatar say, I guess.

Guess you and Korra were close than, huh? If that's what people who are close to avatars say.

[His last words hold a twinge of jealousy. It must've been nice to be so close to her. It's only when he realizes how he sounded that he needed to say something to this boy. Cross needed to forget himself for a moment and his pain and just focus on the other guy.]

I'm sorry about that. I can only imagine how hard it must be to have a friend go home. Especially since you two were from the same world.

[He laces sympathy into his words hiding his own hurt as he does so.]

She's my best friend from back home. She saved my life more than once.

[ He barely even notices the bitterness, even if he did he'd just figure this was a guy who would miss Korra too. Who wouldn't miss her. ]

I know I'll see her again I'm just sick of being the one who always stays behind...

Staying behind doooooooes kind of suck.

[Friends leave and they're left to be sad. It sucks beyond reasoning and a bit cruel.]

But, think of it this way. When she gets back you can totally surprise her with uh-a surprise sparring match?

Wouldn't a surprise hug be a better plan? There's less of a chance that I'll get punched in the face.

Hmmm...truuuuuuuue. But, if it's a surprise hug you'd still probably get punched. You know, it be a surprising kind of implies she won't know when it's coming or who the hug is coming from.
